how to partition syslog table

Post by ajmal2021 »

Hello there,
We are using cacti with syslog plugin for the logs, both latest versions. We are getting millions of logs per week and therefore the system is pretty slow, it often takes like 10 minutes to get to logs.

I was hoping if someone could guide me on how to perform a range or hash partitioning on the syslog table.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

The best thing to do is to re-install using the latest version of the plugin, which is much more scalable and enable partitioning from the installer.

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?
